Director Abhishek Sharma says that one day he came home with a bad headache for which he had tied a scarf around his head. His wife reacted by saying “you look like Osama bin Laden”.
So the movie was born.
Osama had to be made a loveable guy.
The whole thing sucks. Osama is evil itself. He can never be your friendly neighbourhood loveable guy even in satire. I would never watch this movie and if I did it would revolt me.
We’ve seen movies about another purveyor of evil – Adolf Hitler. Has anybody made him look like Santa Claus with a huge white beard coming down chimneys on a cold Christmas night in Germany generously giving children miniature toys of tanks and guns and destroyers and grenades and even maimed Allied soldiers?
Abhishek Sharma might have got just this idea were he living during the Second World War.
